David’s interest in showing steer at the fair grew into starting to raise cattle at home. Little by little we added land to our log cabin until it turned into a farm. Watching Hannah sit with David as he interacted with his heifers and steer was a joyful time. They’d chat and work together, sharing their lives. It was a point in the day where they’d get along well. Animals bring out the best in those two young-in’s. Dad joined in to help on occasion, too. As David walked his new calf, dad would stand nearby, just in case he was needed. Learning about heifer insemination was a very interesting day. David and Hannah giggled between themselves any time such topics arose about the animals. I sure did love that time period! They were both so sweet.
