David and Hannah spent most of their lives glued to my side. When David says I am always there, he’s not exaggerating. I’ve been blessed with two lives: my career time period and my children time period. I was “all in” with both. I am so glad I focused on my children from birth onward. However, this loving focus meant that David and Hannah went everywhere with me. The hair and nail salons were on the monthly routine. At first they didn’t mind. Laying in a car seat sleeping or taking in all the new sights and sounds was entertaining. Then, as they got old enough to move around, it wasn’t as much fun. They were both well behaved and easy to entertain, but it wasn’t the highlight of their day. David was a good sport about this girly stuff, as long as I rewarded him with treats and didn’t photograph him. He didn’t want proof he attended such nonsense. I must admit, I miss my little entourage following me around all day.
